活動內容：各項中華文化體驗活動、舞獅表演、大型充氣城堡彈床體驗及美食品嚐。

Ten P.5 and P.6 students from Shek Lei St. John's Catholic Primary School participated in the one-day "Little Ecologists" programme at Caritas Chan Chun Ha Field Studies Centre (supported by the Jockey Club CoolScience Project). The students travelled by ferry to Cheung Chau and experienced Hong Kong’s first simulated freshwater stream model specially designed for primary school education, engaging in an immersive exploration of river ecosystems. They started with water quality testing and gradually transformed into little scientists!

This winter, P.5 students from Shek Lei St. John's Catholic Primary School, supported by the Education Bureau's mainland exchange program, traveled to Beijing from 5th January to 8th January for an adventure in history, culture, and natural science. Over four days and three nights, they became detectives, architects, and shopping experts, experiencing many "firsts" and growing amid laughter and challenges.

The Football Team of Shek Lei St. John’s Catholic Primary School is honoured to represent the Kwai Chung District in the the 3rd All Hong Kong Inter-Area Primary Schools Futsal Competition this year. Following their successful advancement from the preliminary round held on 10 January 2026, the team will proceed to the first round of the finals this Saturday, 17 January 2026. They will compete against the team of the Kowloon South District.

Interactive Anti-drug Drama: “Say No to Drugs — Hidden, Endure, Addiction”
Students from Primary 4 to Primary 6 attended an interactive anti-drug drama titled “Say No to Drugs: Hidden, Endure, Addiction”, performed by the Spring-Time Experimental Theatre on Thursday, 18th December. The drama explored the hidden dangers of drugs, the importance of self-control, and the consequences of addiction. Through lively and interactive storytelling, students learned how to resist drug temptations and understood the serious legal consequences of drug abuse.

Shek Lei St. John’s Football Team won the championship of the 2025–2026 Kwai Chung District Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition
The football team of Shek Lei St. John’s Catholic Primary School won the championship of the 2025–2026 Kwai Chung District Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition, organised by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation (Kwai Chung District), on Wednesday, 10 December, by defeating their opponents 6–4 in an exhilarating final ⚽️🏆. This victory brings the highest honour to the school and, for the first time in history, qualifies the team to represent Kwai Chung District in the All-Hong Kong Primary Schools Football Competition, where they will face even greater challenges.
On December 1, 2025, the school held the “Primary 1 Thanksgiving and Filial Piety Gathering.” During the event, the children shared joyful moments through videos highlighting their school life. The outstanding older brothers and sisters from Grade Five showcased their leadership by taking care of their younger peers, embodying the spirit of filial piety and brotherhood. Additionally, the Grade One students expressed their love by serving tea to their parents, showing gratitude to their elders. Parents also shared heartfelt thoughts during the event, expressing appreciation for the school’s nurturing and care. The children demonstrated energetic exercises that promoted the importance of a healthy lifestyle, making the event lively, warm, and filled with love and emotion.

Primary 1 Thanksgiving and Filial Piety Gathering
Thank you for your continued trust and support of the school, which has allowed our children to grow up healthy and happy in a warm campus environment. Since the start of the school year in September, we have witnessed our Primary 1 students progress from being timid on their first day to gradually adapting to school life. Every small step of improvement over these 100 days is truly worthy of our gratitude.
The “One Hundred Days Celebration”, originally scheduled for 1st December, 2025, was planned so that parents and children could share these achievements together. However, in light of the unfortunate event that Hong Kong has experienced over the past few days, the atmosphere across the city remains somber, and many families have been affected to varying degrees. The school believes that, at this stage, it is inappropriate to hold a celebratory event in the style of a “celebration” out of respect for society as a whole.
Therefore, the school has decided to change the “One Hundred Days Celebration” to a “Primary 1 Thanksgiving and Filial Piety Gathering”. The date and time of the event will remain unchanged. The theme of the activity will center on “Gratitude, Filial Piety, and Empathy”, helping children learn to maintain a grateful heart in any circumstances, cherish the people around them, and show understanding for others’ feelings. Parents who have previously registered are kindly requested to attend at the original scheduled time.
本校於10月13-17日舉行「國際失敗週」跨課程主題學習活動，其中5秒大挑戰、分享失敗平台心受學生喜愛。並實踐本年度成長型思維主題(自我肯定 I can do it)，學生進行擁抱失敗活動的同時，加入Google classroom延伸自主學習內容，例如：認識中國「光纖之父」高錕先生的成功經驗、延伸閱讀《三個朱古力挑戰》等等。
Our school held the "International Failure Week" cross-curricular theme learning activity from October 13-17, with the 5-Second Challenge and the Failure Sharing Platform being particularly popular among students. Embracing this year's growth mindset theme ("I Can Do It" self-affirmation), students participated in activities to embrace failure while engaging in extended self-directed learning content on Google Classroom, such as learning about the success story of Charles K. Kao, the "Father of Fiber Optics" in China, and reading ‘’The Three Chocolate Challenge’’.

"SLSJ Mid-Autumn Festival Evening Gala" 🏮
Shek Lei St. John’s Catholic Primary School 🏫 will hold a "Mid-Autumn Festival Evening Gala" on the evening of September 19th, inviting kindergarten K2 and K3 children and their parents for participation.
Our school held a financial literacy seminar on consumption, saving, and sharing, teaching students to be savvy money managers. It emphasized valuing resources and appreciating parents' efforts. The program, designed for P5 and P6 students, encourages setting personal financial goals like budgeting and saving. Students learned that financial management involves responsibility and gratitude, laying a strong foundation for their futures.
Our school held the “St. John’s Sparkling Stage ‘FUN Show’” on July 9 and 10, where students displayed a variety of talents on stage, fostering their confidence. The event featured performances by parent-child teams and alumni, embodying a spirit of mutual support. Inspired by the wonderful performances, many students expressed their eagerness to participate in next year’s event 👯♂️⚽️🥋⛹️♀️🤹🏻♀️🩰
On June 21, 2025, our school's Parent-Teacher Association, in collaboration with the Parent-Teacher Association of TWGHs Mrs. Wu York Yu Memorial College, successfully co-hosted a "Parent-Child Experience and Visit Activity" at GO PARK Sai Sha. The event aimed to promote interest in sports and healthy living through parent-child sports experiences, including football and the emerging sport of Teqball, fostering mental well-being and strengthening parent-child bonds. The atmosphere was lively, filled with laughter from parents and children, and the event concluded successfully, with participants expressing great satisfaction and anticipation for more such activities in the future.
On June 28 (Saturday), our school sent five Stream team members to participate in the "Drone Soccer Competition 2025" 🛬, organized by the Hong Kong Drone Association and BEL. The students performed exceptionally well and achieved a first-class award. Although they didn’t advance to the semi-finals, the students showed resilience and determination! 💪 Through this enriching experience, the students cultivated valuable teamwork skills and achieved significant technical advancements.
On June 20 (Friday), our school held the "2024-2025 Shek Lei St. John’s 55th Anniversary Cup – Five-a-Side Football Invitational Tournament and Sister School Exchange Activity" at the Futsal Court inside Sha Tin Racecourse Sports Ground.
On 28th June, 14 Primary 5 and Primary 6 students participated in an online Bible Kahoot! quiz organized by the Catholic Diocese Primary School District V. This activity allowed students to deepen their understanding of the Bible and sparked their interest in reading it voluntarily. The students were very enthusiastic and engaged, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.

On June 24 (Tuesday), our school held a Thanksgiving Mass for Primary 6 graduates at Ss. Cosmas and Damian Church in Tsuen Wan, officiated by Rev. Chu Yen-Tsung.
On 21st June, children from over a dozen kindergartens visited our school to experience activities such as “Little Bee Coding,” “Drone Flying,” “Spelling Bee English Immersion,” “Magic Craft Workshop,” and “Balance Bike Knights” 🚴. Both parents and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, filling the campus with a joyful atmosphere. Meanwhile, parents toured the students’ “Learning Outcome Exhibition” to deepen their understanding of SLSJ.
✨On 18th June, the Reading Promotion Team organised an exciting “Buggy Storytelling” event for librarians! The tutor kicked off a fantastical journey with the book “The Boy Who Loved Insects”, guiding students through a nature lesson with hands-on exploration of amazing reptiles — African ball pythons and fat-tailed geckos — fostering respect for life and sparking boundless passion for science and reading! 📚📚🐍🦎

Mother's Day is approaching. In order to enhance students' moral education and promote the traditional virtues of loyalty, filial piety, respect for the elderly, and love for the young in Chinese culture, the Moral and Civic Education Committee, Chinese Language Subject Team, and School Choir have collaborated to organize a Mother's Day gratitude activity. The aim is to help students understand the hard work and sacrifices their mothers and family have made for their growth, and to cultivate gratitude and care for their family members. Students have expressed their gratitude through writing thoughtful cards and presenting gifts. Enjoy the video and wish all mothers a happy Mother's Day!

成果展已於2024年1月23日在本校禮堂舉行，此課程以發展學生動手做，多動腦思考為目標，提升學生的高思維解難能力，把知識點應用學與實踐，加深學習的興趣。培養學生自學能力，提升學習及其他的表現，增強溝通協作能力。發展「成長式思維」，提升學生合作能力，勇於接受挑戰「向成功人士學習Learn from role models」的精神。
